What Does Contravention Code 62 Mean?

Contravention Code 62 means that a motorist has been issued with a Penalty Charge Notice or PCN for parking their vehicle with one or more wheels on an urban road instead of the carriageway or footpath parking.

Contravention Code 62 is a high-level contravention with a Penalty Charge Notice amounting to a fine between £35 and £70 if it is paid within 14 days of being issued.

• postal order

A PCN should be paid within 28 days of being issued otherwise you will be issued a charge certificate. If you are issued with a charge certificate you will have 14 days to clear your dues before an additional amount of 50 per cent of the fine is added to your PCN charges.
